Today we took my spry 96-year-old dad on a day trip to see a very impressive model train setup in Fairfield. An engineer (mechanical, not choo-choo) friends train club was running it. As trains fade from the public consciousness, there are fewer young kids taking it up as a hobby, so the Old Guard train fans are doing all they can to keep the hobby alive. Will do a gallery in a minute, but here is a video...the layouts had faux-burning buildings, fire engines, fast food joints, and of course...model trains.
