Today we were posed the question, What childrens books changed your life/molded you into the person you are? Then later, the presenter read the book Each Kindness which honestly was extremely emotional as it shared the story of a girl who consistently chose to be rude to a new student at school, then when she had a change of heart, it was too late because the new student moved away again. Sorry, I cant share the plot as eloquently as the story really reads, but you get the gist. The presenter then told us to never miss out on an opportunity to share childrens literature with your class because these are the books that are shaping their lives. It was really powerful to me. As Ive reflected, mine are the Little House on the Prairie series which taught family values & morality, Amazing Grace where Grace could do anything she put her mind to, & the Wonderful Pigs of Jillian Jiggs where I learned about creativity, making things, and hoarding lol. I have many other fond memories of literature (poetry not so much, mother). What are your books?
