Today we will head to the lake for the Fourth of July. Last night, my dad was in my dreams. He was standing on the dock in his swim trunks with his hands on his hips, watching us get the boat ready to go skiing. He was smiling and tan and he looked so happy. Of course I woke up upset, and so many memories flashed back in my mind. He taught me to ski there, he taught me to fish there, we worked on the boat motors together. Ill never forget the time we found a bats nest in the motor of the pontoon!!!. I would also enjoy watching him tinker outside with any projects he had going on over the years. We always wondered why he wouldnt just RELAX, but that was him- always busy !!! God, I miss him! It should be Him driving the pontoon, Him cooking the barbecue on the deck, Him waking everybody up when he makes his coffee at 5 am!! I hate that he was taken from us so soon. It certainly is hard to go there and try to carry on the traditions without him. But, I do feel close to him when Im there. This weekend, I will sit on the dock and drink a beer just for him. I love u dad, an I still miss you like crazy!!!
