Todays Constitution Court ruling comes as no surprise to anyone. I think Max has mentioned on many occasions that a lot of the actions of the CC is steered from a group of the elite that has sworn that quote no budget of this magnitude can ever be allowed to fall into the hands of Thaksins gang. Max also would like to repeat that a lot of the 2006 coup, subsequent judicial coups and current political quagmire are very much driven by pure financial interests and equity redistribution and that other factors are very often only secondary, collateral manifestations. The conspiracy behind it which has often been called into question can today simply be assumed proven beyond any reasonable doubt. Let me repeat that there is and has never been any significant reliability in PTs supposed deals with either the military nor old money. So it all plays out in slow motion just as expected - a strategic disaster to appease the arch-enemy in a bar-fight over booty. So is this all just a away of extorting more concessions? Or the last act before the upcoming judicial coup that will push the country over the edge? Max thinks that it is wish for thinking to believe that people that believe that they are born special and privileged will give way to fade to second ranks. Todays ruling proves that the courts (with the exception of the Criminal Court) are firmly in the hands of this ultra-right wing group and that they are about to derail this country unless there would be outright and open resistance from top army brass. But it is likely that the later will just sit by and wont do anything to prevent that leaving the courts and the NACC to carry out the dirty work for this group. The reason is simple: in the Thai Pi-Nong system the younger and second ranks in the army have no direct influence into these spheres - it is reserved to top brass only. So it is likely that all is set in place and carved in stone on the other side. What are we going to do about it? Thats the important question.
