Todays Cup of Wisdom: THE TONGUE ( Print it, keep it, share it!) God bless♥ Brothers and sisters WE ALL NEED THIS WISDOM! Our tongue, words and speech are no laughing matter! Our tongue is such a small part of the body yet has SUCH GREAT POWER! Do not miss out on what your Heavenly Father has for you today! Our tongue is a major subject, everyone has one and each will reap the reward for how they use it, whether good or evil. The tongue has the power of LIFE and DEATH! The world says sticks and stones will break my bones but words can never harm me…This is an outright LIE, straight from the enemy! Words cut deep, words have power, words show your true heart, and as a Christian if you are walking and talking evil in one breath and praising your Father and Lord in the next breath, you have much to fear! Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom! We need to be very conscious of how we speak, and make sure the words that come out of our mouths and off of our tongues are edifying and not destructive, because we are receiving fruit for what comes off our tongues! When we have an opinion, or disagreement with something another is doing, we can go to them directly, and better yet go straight to God with it, before you speak it out or share it with anyone else! Satan is cunning and evil thoughts will come to all of us, but that does not mean we have to agree with them and give them life by speaking them! If we have troubles or illness, financial difficulties, sorrows, the same thing goes! SPEAK TO THEM, OVER THEM IN THE NAME OF JESUS, DO NOT CONTINUALLY AGREE WITH THEM AND GIVE THEM LIFE! How many of us are throwing our blessings into the trash can every day by having a trash mouth? We cannot say God rules our heart and let satan rule our mouth! It is IMPOSSIBLE! Your mouth speaks your heart! So where your mouth is your heart is! Think about it! Are you a Christian or not? If the answer is yes then we need to ACT LIKE IT! FAITH IS AN ACTION! God’s word is our only defense, we must DO AS IT SAYS! Trash talk is not just cursing ( Bad words) it is gossiping, lying, slander, complaining, arguing, bearing false witness against another, speaking any form of evil. Words can be a weapon of good, edifying the church, building it up, making it stronger, or words can be destructive, secret whispers, will come to light, slander, will come to light, lies will come to light, and cause dissention, separation and destruction of the body of Christ! A HOUSE DIVIDED CANNOT STAND! We are all responsible for one another, we are one in Him, who wants to be the faulty brick in this house? We need to think twice, three, four times before your speak, because once it comes out, you cannot take it back! It is done, and according to the word of God, we will receive the reward for what you have done! Your tongue must be guarded with your life! We need to renew our minds and TRAIN OUR TONGUES! All for the glory of God and Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of heaven to come! Proverbs 18:21King James Version (KJV) 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 21:23King James Version (KJV) 23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles. Proverbs 19:5King James Version (KJV) 5 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape. 1 Peter 3:10King James Version (KJV) 10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: 1 Peter 2:1King James Version (KJV) Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, Proverbs 6:16-19King James Version (KJV) 16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. Ephesians 4:29King James Version (KJV) 29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. James 3 King James Version (KJV) 3 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. 2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Behold, we put bits in the horses mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? 12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. 13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. Matthew 5:22King James Version (KJV) 22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Matthew 12:33-37King James Version (KJV) 33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. 34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Psalm 52:2King James Version (KJV) 2 The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. Titus 3:2King James Version (KJV) 2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. 1 Peter 2:1-25King James Version (KJV) Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, 2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. 4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. 13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lords sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; 14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. 15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: 16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. 17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. 18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. 19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. 21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls. James 1:19-20King James Version (KJV) 19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. Galatians 5:16King James Version (KJV) 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Isaiah 1:10-31English Standard Version (ESV) 10 Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom! Give ear to the teaching[a] of our God, you people of Gomorrah! 11 “What to me is the multitude of your sacrifices? says the Lord; I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of well-fed beasts; I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of goats. 12 “When you come to appear before me, who has required of you this trampling of my courts? 13 Bring no more vain offerings; incense is an abomination to me. New moon and Sabbath and the calling of convocations— I cannot endure iniquity and solemn assembly. 14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hates; they have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them. 15 When you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood. 16 Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil, 17 learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widows cause. 18 “Come now, let us reason[b] together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. 19 If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; 20 but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” The Unfaithful City 21 How the faithful city has become a whore,[c] she who was full of justice! Righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers. 22 Your silver has become dross, your best wine mixed with water. 23 Your princes are rebels and companions of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe and runs after gifts. They do not bring justice to the fatherless, and the widows cause does not come to them. 24 Therefore the Lord declares, the Lord of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel: “Ah, I will get relief from my enemies and avenge myself on my foes. 25 I will turn my hand against you and will smelt away your dross as with lye and remove all your alloy. 26 And I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city.” 27 Zion shall be redeemed by justice, and those in her who repent, by righteousness. 28 But rebels and sinners shall be broken together, and those who forsake the Lord shall be consumed. 29 For they[d] shall be ashamed of the oaks that you desired; and you shall blush for the gardens that you have chosen. 30 For you shall be like an oak whose leaf withers, and like a garden without water. 31 And the strong shall become tinder, and his work a spark, and both of them shall burn together, with none to quench them 1 Timothy 4:16King James Version (KJV) 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. Matthew 12:36-37King James Version (KJV) 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. When we are tested Lord, help us to do the right thing! Father if we hear evil speech or gossip, help us to speak out against it, in honor of you, in honor of Our Almighty God, to stop the weed of destruction in this body of believers, to cut evil speech off at the root! Lord it is our desire to bear good fruit in your Kingdom, to store our treasures in heaven, and receive every blessing that you have promised for our obedience. Psalm 141:3King James Version (KJV) 3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
