Todays Hall of Fame Spotlight NANCI BOWEN, was a member of the 1984 Tift County High School Region 1-AAAA Champion Golf Team. After completing her successful high school career, she signed an athletic scholarship to play for the University of Georgia Womens Golf Team. During her time at the University of Georgia she was runner up in the Southeastern Conference Championship and finished 6th at the NCAA Championship her senior year. Bowen turned professional in 1991 and continued to play on the LPGA tour for 14 years. In 1993, she was name Player of the Year on the Futures Tour. Her biggest accomplishment came in 1995 when she captured the prestigious Kraft Nabisco Championship, one of the four majors of the LPGA. Elected by her peers to the LPGA Executive Committee from 1999-2001, she served as Vice President in 2001. Bowen founded the Nanci Bowen Charity Golf Event, which benefits Hospice and Oncology Services of Tift County. She currently teaches golf lessons to dedicated players in Greenville, SC at the Furman University golf course.
