Todays Sunday sermon: How can you call yourself a Christian if you support the Prison-Industrial Complex? Although I am petty and weak and biased because I am but a mortal man, and in dark moments of anger and spite I want certain people, whom I consider evil, to be incarcerated and tortured, but I do not believe Jesus would. I do not believe that a for-profit prison industry is something that Christ would ideologically support. Think about it: He went to Hell just to tell everyone that they didnt have to stay there forever. That there was a way out. If the abolishment of Hell and the salvation of all its denizens were on his agenda as a deity as part of his succession from older deities, why do people think he would support sending anyone to prison? Tolstoys Resurrection has really forced me to acknowledge and admire the anarcho-pacifism inherent in Christianity. Divine grace is not something that most people could understand, but as Christians, it is our duty to strive for such enlightenment.
