Todays Wine Tasting Monday, August 4, 2-6pm: Team Member Picks I’ve been on a bit of an Italian kick recently with the bottles I’ve been choosing to take home and pair with my meals, but the warmer weather and sorts of meals I cook this time of year seem to call for it. The notes of rich fruit and leather paired with lively acidity make even the most generic Tuscan wine perfect for weeknight cooking. The IGT Toscana wine from Ciacci Piccolomini ($14.99) is no exception to this. For those of you not familiar with their estate, Ciacci Piccolomini is one of the great names in Brunello di Montalcino. Their everyday offering, produced from primarily Sangiovese vines that are too young to go into either Brunello or Rosso. It works perfectly with grilled meats and cheeses, even when you’re simply nibbling on some of the terrific Olli salamis from the meat department. Cheers, Bill the Wine Buyer
