Todays adoptions: Cats - Pluto, Archer! Dogs - Carmen, Toby, Simone...and one dog adoption we could not be happier about: TUCKER!!! Our gorgeous boy was surrendered back in October for chronic digestive issues. His owner had tried numerous remedies, visited many vets - yet Tucker never got better. When he arrived he weighed less than 50 pounds. After MONTHS of trial and error, research, long distance calls with specialists, and a trip to Purdue Veterinary Hospital, our team believed we finally had the answers for this sweet boy. He has multiple digestive issues that can be managed with the right diet and medicine. We reached out and asked for a foster for Tucker and literally THOUSANDS of people responded. But when they learned about his special diet, periodic blow outs, medicine and digestive aids hed need to be on, no one was up for the challenge. Until a month ago when Jeff stepped up. Tuckers issues didnt scare him one bit; he is former military after all. With Jeffs love and care, Tucker now weighs 70 POUNDS and is thriving. And he now has a forever home with the person who saw him at his worse and said, Ill take care of you regardless. To our staff who never gave up on Tucker - even when it seemed hopeless, cleaned up his room multiple times a day, our Volunteers who would walk him and spend time with him as the months dragged on - we hope this picture reminds you of why we are different from ANY other shelter: We are relentless.
