Todays coaching is inspired by this Zig Ziglar quote: As this - TopicsExpress

Todays coaching is inspired by this Zig Ziglar quote: As this quote says you must set clear, specific, and definitive goals to realize your maximum potential. This seems obvious, however, what we all too often do, is set some goals often times in multiple areas of our lives and then we dont set out a plan to achieve them. Additionally, we dont get clear and specific enough. Another challenge might be that you take the time to set the goals, you even write them down, but then dont take the time to create a strategy and action plan to bring them to fruition. So now what happens, is you wake up each day after committing to these new goals only to struggle with the next step in the goal achievement process. Soon after a few days, you lose focus, the energy fades and you realize that maybe this goal was too difficult, and as such decide to quit or lessen the goal to make it more attainable. The problem with reducing the expectations, is that the achievement of this new lesser goals is not motivating enough to get you to take any action and as such you quit. And the worst Dream killer is that we dont take the time to communicate to ourselves the Why for these goals that we set. So guess what happens, we wake up over the next couple of days and dont realize the commitment we made with ourselves and consequently once the initial energy of the motivation wears off, and we hit some obstacles, we quit. Or we get some progress but then it stalls from the obstacles, and life gets in the way and we put those goals aside instructing our passions to take a back seat to practicality, allowing ourselves to justify not making more progress on these goals. The way you achieve phenomenal successes in life is to take the time to set goals correctly. Writing them out, creating a strategy and action plan including deadlines, anchoring them to our emotions with Whys, then setting out daily to achieve them while evaluating our process and recognizing what is and isnt working and adjusting accordingly. Setting a goal is not a simple write it down and go do it process, it can be, but generally, depending on how big you are dreaming this is a longer process that requires constant attention and nurturing to come to fruition.
