Todays comments on the News from the PP and WCCO; The purported objective impartial media is touting the opening of the Legislature with great fanfare. The WCCOs Bakk talks about the MN legislature as eager to “…divvy up the $1 Billion surplus.” He think the Republican will seek to use these funds for road repair while we all know that the DFL has already spent these funds in twice over. This was implied in todays PP Editorial about the wonderful Green Line. The PP is seeking to fund more transit project with for the “East Metro”. There seems to be an indoctrination project to get East Metro agents of influence to recite Riverview,Rush Line,Red Rock and Robert Street. The PP wants more transit regardless of cost. Sadly, they will get it regardless of what the MNGOP House has in mind. Gov. Dayton wants to increase the State Sales Tax, so that out state taxpayers can build toy for Twin City politicans. He also want to increase the taxes on motor fuel to build (with the help of his DFL Senate) to build more transit in the cities. The GOP lead House should remember that every penny of gas taxes is to go to transit! People should remember that the mathematically impaired voters of MN pass the Gas Tax amendment several years ago without reading it. This amendment made it the State Law that all GR(gas tax revenue)must be applied to the following set of equations: Let T denote funds for Transit. Let R denote funds for roads/bridges. 1. GR = T + R All revenue from gas taxes must be applied to Transit and Roads. 2. T >= 40% of GR Read this as T must be greater than or equal to 40% 3. R
