Todays encouragement: In Revelation 12 we start with a symbolic vision where the church (body of believers) is a pregnant woman. She is clothed with the sun representing righteousness and she has the moon under foot. This could represent the world and its changing phases or perhaps a representation of the world and its doctrine which is a lesser version of the true light of Christ. There are many theories as to its meaning. She is wearing 12 crowns which is most likely to represent the 12 tribes. Next we see the pain that she is experiencing as the time comes for Christs arrival. It is symbolized as a birth to show that He came as God through human form and convention. The pain she suffers is in reference to all of the persecution that the church has and will suffer. Now Satan comes on the scene as a red dragon. Here not only is the entity of Satan represented, but also the world powers that he wields. We see the desire of Satan to destroy Christ and the church. As things progress we will see how God handles our enemy and brings justice. To be continued... And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
