Todays entry in my list of Top 10 Queen songs is a classic pop single from A Night at the Opera. 7. Youre My Best Friend is a song written by bassist John Deacon and recorded by Queen for their classic 1975 album A Night at the Opera. Released as a single, the song peaked at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached #7 in the UK. This was the follow-up single to Bohemian Rhapsody and the straight ahead pop ballad was a nice change of pace from the bombastic prog rock of the former. Bassist John Deacon wrote it as a tribute to his wife, and he plays the Wurlitzer electric piano that has a prominent role in the song.
