Todays going to be a good day to be at the beach or in airconditioning with very hot conditions. The majority of thunderstorms today should be in northern parts of our region (as well as some near and south of the border close to places like Tenterfield, etc) as somewhat drier air starts coming through. The 1st map shows the how hot it might feel today (as opposed to true temps) as forecast by one of the models. Note that this heat index only takes humidity and temps into account so its not exactly the same as the Apparent Temperatures on the BoM website. And in case youre planning any outdoor activities or firework-watching on New Years Eve, the 2nd map shows the chances of any rainfall between 4pm New Years Eve and 4am New Years Day as suggested by a few of the models while the 3rd map is just a zoomed out version of it (Ken):
