Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas, Texas. In 1972, US ends its 22 year travel ban to China. Four years later, in 1976, the comic strip Cathy by Cathy Guisewhite debuted. In 1984, Fred Rogers of PBSs Mr Rogers Neighborhood presents a sweater to the Smithsonian Institution. Two years later, in 1986, Wayne Gretzky, of Edmonton, became the 13th NHLer to score 500 goals then in 1987, two Chicago television stations were hijacked by an unknown pirate dressed as Max Headroom. Finally in 1990, Margaret Thatcher announced her resignation as British Prime Minister.
