Todays news was not what we had hoped to hear. Ford does have an infection in his blood. This was devastating to hear as Dr Mena was very honest as to the possible consequences in a baby this small. He is still concerned about a possible perforation of his intestines and had a conversation with Dr Chen at childrens about how to proceed. The plan right now is to wait as they have still not determined that he definitely has that, although that could be the source of the blood infection. If he continues to deteriorate, Dr Chen would place a drain to help with the perf since hes too little for surgical correction. They will also possibly do a spinal tap next week to check for bacterial meningitis. Whit continues to be stable and they have increased his trials of breast feeding into is OG tube. Please continue to pray for both boys and pray that this mama has the strength to help her boys see this through. Dr Mena reminded us to pray, although we have never stopped. We thank you all for continued prayers during this difficult time. No matter how softly you whisper a prayer, God hears and understands. He knows the hopes and fears you keep in your heart...
