Todays picture was picked out by senior and yearbook member Kaitlin Prior, who really thinks we should bring the cactus garden back! A spade. a pound of rock. and a cacti plant. and now a fantastic cacti garden, spread for almost 30 yards along the south part of the campus. The main element in constructing this magnificent project hasnt been money. Time. his own time. over 50,000 man hours spent in the accumulation of numerous species of cactus while using only about $50. Walking through the garden creates quite an aesthetic experience, because you realize the beauty and the color of the cacti. and then, wondering how anything can grow in this heat, you see what a marvelous accomplishment Brother Martin has done. -yearbook staff 1969 #tbt
