Todays prayer: Deuteronomy 6 Sovereign Lord, I pray today for myself and for ______________________, and ask that by your Spirit we may be prompted and energized to observe all your commands. May we fear you and show our reverence for you by obeying you. I claim your promise for us that if we do, we will enjoy life and things will go well for us. May we always do what is right and good in your sight and conduct ourselves in righteousness. I ask you to honor our obedience by causing us to prosper in everything. I pray that when we eat and are satisfied we will not forget you or forget that all our prosperity comes from your generous hand. May we never follow any other god, and always remember that you are a jealous God. Deepen our conviction that you and you alone are God. Quicken in us a love for you, that we may love you as the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our strength. I pray that your commands will always be on our hearts, and that we may be able to impress them on our children. Grant us teachable moments to talk with them about your truth when we sit at home, when we travel from place to place, when we go to bed, and when we rise in the morning. May your truth guide what we do with our hands and what we think in our minds. Govern our homes by your truth and fill them with your presence. I pray for our nation. Lord, you have richly blessed us in this land you have given to us. I confess that while we live in great cities and in houses full of good things and have eaten our fill, yet we have forgotten you, the one who brought us out of bondage and into liberty in our own land. I plead with you to bring about a new spiritual awakening in our nation, that we will fear you once again and serve you only. Remind us that you are a jealous God, and keep us from putting you to the test. I pray that we will diligently keep your commandments, and do what is right and good in your sight that it may go well with us and that we may multiply greatly. Remind us that if we do your statutes, if we fear you as the Lord our God, that you will preserve us alive. I pray that we will be careful to do all your commandments that it may be righteousness for us. I pray that we as a nation will once again make you and you alone our God and love you will all our heart and with all our soul and with all our might. This I ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
