Todays ride was a little eventful, great ride up to Bay City, good lunch and then some excitement on the ride home. Names will not be used to protect the innocent and prevent any smartassedness from coming crashing down on him. One of the group decided he wanted to see what the ditch looked like up close...........hard low speed (25mph ish) left hand turn and the shoulder reached up and grabbed him. Wobble, wobble, almost saved it and then nosed in hard in to the tall grass, but soft ditch. A nice tuck and roll dismount, no broken bones, he was up and walking before everyone came to a stop. Scraped up a little bit, tore up his elbow pretty good and maybe a little hurt pride...........Id take that ANY day over what could have happened, 9 bikes in a group, a couple of inexperienced riders with us today and this could have been sooooo much worse than it was. Busted up lights/windshields, etc can be repaired, and to be honest, even the bike wasnt all that bad. Proven by the fact that he rode it the last 25ish miles back to his buddys house, ripped some shit off, taped some stuff up then he promptly jumped back on the proverbial horse and rode to what was the last destination after the nurse (yes an actual nurse) helped clean up the wounds and do a little repair, Kudos to you brother, and to all those riding today!!! No reason to be apologizing for anything, not needed. When shit like this happens and we can all be standing around the garage chattin and still have smiles on our face after, well then it was STILL a good day......................2 kinds of riders, ones that have been down, and ones that will go down, welcome to the have beens!! You earned a stripe and some additional respect today..........dont EVER be sorry for having something like this happen!! RIDE ON MY FRIEND!!
