Todays sermon was based on a scene from the movie " Life of PI" when after surviving through timultuous storms, and problems on the ocean the character finally reaches land and hes afraid to let go of the boat, for fear of drowning. He had survived in 10, 100, 1000ft of water but near the end was so worn out he feared drowning in only 2ft of water. When you are about to reach your destination you are so worn out from the struggle of surviving that you are afraid to let go of the boat that youve held onto to grasp your destiny. Your comfortable with the boat, it makes you feel secure but if you must let go. You wont drown. Some of you may have to tread hard and others may be coming into shore but, let go. The boat was only meant to get you to the next place.
