Todays thought... I was recently visited Nachtotoches, La. There is an historical land mark, a home built by a freed slave in 1797 who bought the property. The house is a beautiful home. I thought Louisiana was in the south? I thought that the only reason slaves were freed in the south was because of Lincolns emancipation and the civil war. I think 1797 was way before those events.
