Grimes, who has agreed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Welsh club, will first be eligible to feature against West Ham United in the Barclays Premier League on 10 January. The 19-year-old became a regular for League Two club Exeter last season after helping their Under-21s beat Crystal Palace, Southampton and Blackburn Rovers on the way to the quarter-finals of the Under-21 Premier League Cup. After making his senior debut for the Grecians last season, he went on to make 62 appearances, scoring five goals, and won the club’s Player of the Year award at the end of the 2013/14 campaign. Grimes, who earned his first call-up the England U20s this season, is Swanseas second January signing, after the loan of Portugal striker Nelson Oliveira from Benfica, and he is keen to settle in at the club.
