Todays turning out, like so many others have recently, to be a very quiet birthday. I spent it at work, like many people do - but even that means more than it seems because its proof of how I have been much more fortunate than many people my age. At 27, I live independently, own my car, rent my own apartment, have a very high education (2 masters degrees and soon to be professionally certified) in a specialized field, and work a great job with fairly high pay (for someone of my circumstances) and excellent benefits, in a field Im proud to be a part of. None of that existed even a month ago, and I have never lost sight of how immensely grateful I am that my life is finally on track and going the way I want it to. That in and of itself is the best gift I could have asked fate for - to have, in the old proverbial sense, sought and found my fortune. Thanks for wishing me a happy birthday, everyone. My day may not have turned out to be anything special, but I deeply appreciate it nonetheless. ^_^
