Today’s Devo: I AM LANCE ARMSTRONG I noticed that ‘ol LANCE ARMSTRONG is back in the news… he did a lot of good for a lot of people (and their families) struggling with cancer. He is at the same time a cheat, a liar and an addict. But in some ways, isn’t Armstrong an exaggeration of every one of us? We try to be good, do good and love those around us. But we also grossly sin against God’s standard of righteousness, in thought and/or deed. I do on a daily basis. Most of us are morally schizophrenic. Because of Armstrong’s high profile life and the responsibility that comes with that position, there will be huge consequences for his actions that he will have to deal with; and rightly so. But, be careful in judging him too harshly because his larger-than-life, media saturated fall just reminds us that we are not all that different.
