Today’s Lesson: Philippians 2 Part 1 This part of the chapter teaches us to be humble in everything that we do. We should not do things in strife or out of anger but through love and peace. We shall be selfish and think of only of ourselves and how we benefit. We should always be open to someone in need. Jesus came down form him not as I King but in a middle class family. He came as a servant so he could humble himself and to show obedience in unto death. It’s about where you come from but how the heart of character is. When you humble yourself before others, your name will praised about through nations. This is because you have promoted peace and understanding in everything that you do. You will show the glory of God through you. In everything that you do people will do just this (Philippians 2: 10-11) (10) “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things of earth, and things under the earth. (11) And that every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to glory of God the father”.( This means just like how Christ is glorified through God the Father you will be as well because of your good works). Part 2 This part shows that when you humble yourself through work it will be done with integrity. We should all things without complaining. Throughout your journey you will be among others who will hate because of who you are, but your light will shine throughout the world. You will show that it is of God’s mercy and grace that you are at peace. It teaches that when you sacrifice for the Lord you will be full of joy. Even though you may be afraid you will put your trust in the Lord. There will be people who are selfish and seek after their own desires not like you. However, you will prove to them grace of God. It teaches that we should love our enemies because we were once lost. We be there for them when their sick and even dying because it through us that they will see the love of God. God loves unconditionally despite what we do. When we show that to our neighbors, through our actions it encourages others to find Christ. Prayer of Forgiveness Father God, please let this lesson teach us to be humble in our actions. Forgiveness is the key to that. The scriptures teach that we should love our enemies as Christ loved us. Everyone makes mistakes but it was your sacrifice that made a way. Teach us how to forgive so that our love can lead more people to you. I know that will be hard but if we put our trust in you then everything will be ok. I pray that we learn that if we are selfless we will accomplish great things because through the power of Love all things are possible. Spiritual Journey I know that some of you are angry and upset for whatever reason. However, that is not the way to live. We need to forgive only others by ourselves as well. You cannot go on with this baggage any longer. So ask in the name of Jesus that he will touch heart and teach you to love again. You should not go on in pain and sadness. Pray that God gives you a clean heart so that can continue to show his works through you. Have a blessed day.
