Today’s word of encouragement: “So Jesus said to them again, - TopicsExpress

Today’s word of encouragement: “So Jesus said to them again, Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you. And when He had said this, He breathed on them and *said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. John 20:21-22 Jesus was commissioning them to continue in His work which the Father had sent Him to do. The Greek word for sent is “apostello” (Strong’s #649) which is where the English word Apostle comes from. Jesus was releasing a great responsibility upon the disciples but He was also providing the ability to fulfill this task with the power of the Holy Spirit. He was giving them the same authority and clothing them with the very same power which He had walked in. A “New Man” was being released with this breath. God breathed the breath of life into Adam and he became a living being. Jesus I believe was mirroring His Father as He breathed upon His disciples and released a prophetic picture of what would occur on the day of Pentecost. Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water. But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.” John 7:37-39 We now walk in the potential of the full flow of the Holy Spirit just as Jesus did. If this is not so then Jesus gave us an empty promise. We are to live a life which reflects His image. We are to live and walk in the Spirit! “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:25 Today, receive His peace! Choose to allow it to set your attitude and altitude! Recognize that you have been sent by God to invade this world to release and establish His will! The Holy Spirit resides not only upon you as He did those in the Old Testament but within you to empower your life constantly. In the Old Testament He would come upon them and depart when the mission was accomplished. Today we carry out the mission or assignment until Christ’s return. Hallelujah! Today not only live in the Spirit but walk in the Spirit! God bless you P.M.
