Tomorrow I am lead celebrant at the naming ceremony for the beautiful baby boy of a special friend ... very touched to have been asked to do this ... we had a rehearsal this afternoon in the gorgeous little Bloomsbury park where it will take place under a spreading tree surrounded by roses ... It was only when I was going through the old photos and letters at my childhood home this week that I suddenly realised that the lovely old fashioned name which my friend and her partner have chosen for their son was not only the name of both my own father and his father but also the name of my mothers father who died long before I was born ... it is a name that exists in English and French [and Spanish too with an o tacked on the end] Wonder if anyone can guess what that name is ... ?
