Tomorrow I will be hosting a Dementia Friends event in my Gosport office – it will see local Councillors and I signing up to become ‘Dementia Friends’ as part of a nationwide initiative led by The Alzheimer’s Society. It’s all about ensuring that people living with dementia feel included in our community and giving people an understanding of dementia and the small things that they can do that could make a difference. More than 1 in 3 people with dementia live within the community and so the Dementia Friends initiative is extremely important. There are now already well over half a million Dementia Friends.
