Tomorrow, November 5th, is Election Day - you are going to be asked to choose three City Council members. My name is Alec Isaacson, and I am asking for your vote. I didn’t enter this race because I’m focused on one issue – I entered it because I’m focused on Beachwood. We have great city services, a vibrant business community, and excellent city schools. I will strengthen that excellent foundation to keep Beachwood growing, vital, and competitive. I will be a thoughtful, independent, and positive leader who knows our community and is ready to serve. As I’ve said before, I pledge to work with whoever wins the mayor’s race and each and every council member. I will exercise my oversight responsibilities to ensure that our tax dollars are spent wisely on things that bring value to our city. For the record, I have not, and will not, endorse any candidate in the mayoral race. I will work with whoever the voters elect to be Mayor. My first and only allegiance is to the residents of Beachwood. I have run my campaign as I will run my position on our City Council – positive, open, aboveboard, and relentlessly focused on improving our city. It’s clear that the people of Beachwood want results, not gridlock. As a technology consultant for a Fortune 500 software company, I have a unique combination of business and technology experience which will bring a new and valuable point of view to our council. I specialize in solving problems and making organizations more productive and responsive. A key part of that is assessing what is truly needed and achievable given the available resources, and then clearly communicating expectations. These are things I do every day – these are things I will do for Beachwood. As you choose your city council this year, look at each candidate and see if they are making the same guarantees that I have. We need a city council that will be focused on our entire community, with members who understand Beachwood, who have a broad vision, and who are prepared to move our city forward in a positive way.
