Tomorrow Scott and I will be joining Bailey Mabery at a Press Conference called by Yavapai College to further detail their decision to cancel the 2014 Softball Season. Needless to say, Bailey and her teammates are caught in a whirlwind right now. There are really no words to describe the level of our disappointment and disgust with this situation. Bailey made a commitment to play for a National Championship Program and was proud to do so. She is one of nine girls who stuck with the program against all odds, and showed incredible leadership, class and dignity throughout. Some other really good girls chose to leave the program earlier, and with good reason. The article linked below does not depict the true depth of the college’s responsibility for this fiasco. It seems to place most of the blame on the kids, which is a farce. The Press Conference tomorrow is at 10am on the Yavapai College campus in Prescott. We’re very interested to see the position the College takes, but if the statements made by the College in this article are any indication, our disappointment will only go deeper. There are many questions to be answered, and we just don’t have those answers yet. We appreciate all the support that so many of you have shown Bailey in both her life and her journey towards a college softball career. We cherish that support and know that she’ll continue to have it as she continues to pursue her passion. Stay tuned ... the opportunities are endless for this kid!
