Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 13, at 1pm, please attend an important hearing of the Los Angeles City Council Budget and Finance Committee. This is the last chance for the public to urge City leaders to fund four critical positions in the Department of Planning: two to shepherd the creation and maintenance of new HPOZs, and two to address issues such as “mansionization” and teardown development occurring in unprotected older and historic neighborhoods. Funding for these positions will amount to only .0047% of the Citys proposed budget, yet they will have positive repercussions for years to come. City Council Budget and Finance Committee Hearing Tuesday, May 13, 2014 1 p.m. John Ferraro Council Chamber Room 340 Los Angeles City Hall 200 N. Spring Street, Los Angeles, 90012 Even if you can’t make the hearing, please email the City Council Budget and Finance Committee if you have not done so already and urge them to fund the four requested positions within the Department of City Planning. These staff positions will allow the Neighborhood Conservation and HPOZ programs to move forward and offer interested neighborhoods a process that maintains and protects community character.
