Tomorrow, Wednesday April 2nd, is a big day for those who oppose Common Core. If you support keeping education local and under the control of the parents and local school districts, please call/email the Education Committee and state that you dont want Common Core and you dont want a replacement of Common Core like what happened in Indiana and Texas. Please SUPPORT: HB1076 DATA PRIVACY: Provides for limitations and prohibitions on the collection and sharing of student information and provides penalties for violations. HB558 STUDENT/ASSESSMENT: Prohibits administration of PARCC and provides for continuation of LEAP tests and the standards on which such tests are based. REQUEST that this bill be amended by removing the definition of Common Core (prepares students to transition to post-secondary education and the workplace) from the requirement for our standards, then we can go to BESE to demand new standards.
