Tomorrow is Eid. And here are some interesting facts about Muhammad: The Kaaba in Mecca was a place for pigrimage in pre-Islamic times. As an orphant he became a merchant, which was the only profession he was allowed to do. His honest reputation attracted the proposal from Khadijah, a 40-year-old widow who was 15 years older than he. She was an extremely rich merchant and had turned down many proposals. Muhammad and Khadija were happily married monogamously for twenty-five years and after her death he declared Khadija the perfect woman and his favourite wife. Financially secure Muhammad started to reteat into a cave on Mount Hira near Mecca for several weeks every year to meditate and pray. On Mount Arafat shortly before his death Muhammad adeclared that an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab. Also a white has no superiority over black, nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Eid Mubarak!
