Tomorrow is Election Day, and your vote counts. Angela is committed to leading Louisville Metro Council in District 7. \Angela’s Background Angela is the owner of construction management company ALEETCO, LLC, and co-owner of Chamberlin Enterprises, a property development company. In addition to her professional projects, she is deeply involved in the Louisville community, currently serving as a board and executive committee member of the Fund for the Arts, a trustee of Spalding University, a WaterStep advisory committee member, and an American Red Cross volunteer. She has used her engineering background as a construction volunteer and board member at Habitat for Humanity and as the chair of Women for Habitat. A Louisville native, Angela graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and the University of Louisville Speed School of Engineering. She received her Master of Engineering in 1992, also from U of L’s Speed School. After graduation, she left Louisville to pursue career interests in both Texas and Indiana. In addition to her work as an engineer, she was certified as an emergency medical technician and trained as an industrial firefighter at Texas A&M. In 1997, while working full time as an environmental engineer, she earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston. Angela met her husband Lee Leet while they were members in the Air Force ROTC at U of L. Lee, also an engineer, is an entrepreneur and Air Force veteran. They have been married for 13 years, and have two sons. Experience, Expertise and a Vision for the Future An engineer by profession, Angela Leet understands the mechanics of managing a project to its successful completion, whether it is getting the roads paved or working with a team to achieve a shared goal. As she says, “I’ve been a doer and a maker all my life.” Angela will seek to engage Louisvillians as problem-solvers, working closely with others to address issues that affect the entire Metro community, from resolving nuts-and-bolts infrastructure challenges to crafting a vision for the future. “I look forward to collaborating on a wide range of issues to improve the community,” she says. She will be a wise steward of Metro resources. As a voice for fiscal responsibility, she knows the right questions to ask to determine the viability of a major project before commitments are made and money is spent - whether it is the redesign of an intersection or the location of a major facility. Having been certified as an emergency medical technician and trained as an industrial firefighter, Angela has first-hand knowledge of the challenges faced every day by those who look out for our safety - the police, firefighters and emergency responders. As a result she takes a special interest in the issues and needs of our Metro safety forces – a sector that forms the largest part of the Metro budget. As a business owner, she knows how to meet payroll and deal with the day-to-day complexities of managing a vibrant organization. As a community volunteer, she understands how to leverage money for the greater good of the community. When you consider all the experience and expertise that she can bring to the Metro Council, it just makes sense to elect Angela Leet as the Metro District 7 Council member on November 4.
