Tomorrow is a day of chest x rays and consent form signing and, today, we are just finishing up in cardiac cath lab.Thursday is her open heart surgery and we will be inpatient for at least a week after. After shes discharged we will remain in the Houston area for another week at least before being allowed to come home. I just spoke with the Cardiologist and the Surgeon... Lots of info. Lots of really great stuff and some gray area.....::deep breath::......... Tonight, she will wear a Halter monitor and it will be read tomorrow in clinic. We are checking for sporadic low heart rate and will be consulting with the rhythm docs over a possible pace maker. The Surgeon doesnt think she will need it but we still need to explore that option. Sydney will have a fenestrated (sorry about my spelling) Fontan so her O2 levels may be a tad lower but not by much. Looking for them to be in the high 80s to low 90s, improving as she matures. There was no need for angioplasty of the aorta and no more co-arctation, no Valvuloplasty needed and no more stenosis... We may need to widen the pulmonary valve, though. All in all the verdict is very good and we are good to go for Thursday. Exhausted. Sleepy time.
