Tomorrow is labour day public holiday which also coincides with the mid year exam periods for many students. Cinemas will be packed with Marvel comics lovers with the launch of spiderman movie! If you are a parent, you are likely going to stay at home to provide mental support for your child in his preparation of the exams. If you are a student, you will be in mug-on mode, wouldnt you? At Winners Education, we understand the level of stress you are facing during this period, we are going to do our best by sharing with you strategies you can apply instantly to solve your questions for Maths & Chemistry. Today Im going to start by sharing a A-Maths video (suitable for Secondary 3 and 4) which shows you how to solve a cubic equation by comparing coefficients (or some called inspection method). By learning this method well, it can also help you to apply to another concept called Identity. There are 3 main methods to solve a cubic equation: 1) Long division 2) Comparing coefficients 3) Synthetic division In this video, you will see my step-by-step approach on how I apply comparing coefficients, how I present my steps and the reasons behind each step. I have also included the usage of the calculator on checking our answers. The approach in the video will not only save you time in your tests and exams, it will also reduce careless mistakes which is often the #1 killers for many students. Are you one of them? ;) Many students sometimes relied too much on calculators, skip key steps and loses marks. Solving cubic equations is likely to be a 4-5 marks question and only the first step involves calculator. You certainly can continue using the calculator but remember to present your solutions properly. Mastering Maths is always easy when you have a bag of strategies and you know EXACTLY how to use each of them, even in an UNFAMILIAR question. If you have found it useful, LIKE this post or SHARE it with your friends to help one another during this exam period :) youtube/watch?v=6iqG74I07v4
