Tomorrow is the big hammer chemo and I am quite worried about it. Actually worried isnt a strong enough word.......I am down right scared. The last dose of this concoction knocked me down for 7-8 days and left me with heavy fatigue, nausea, episodes of vomiting, sickness, etc. I am obviously hoping that my body has adjusted some and I can put tools in place to make this round better but it still makes me worry. Today I was introduced to Doterra AromaTouch therapy thanks to two wonderful friends. In fact, I have had several friends mention and send essential oils for which I am greatly appreciative as they can be spendy. The hope is that it can help ease the side effects. It is amazing how caring people can be. They just step in when you feel you can go no farther. I hope it can provide some benefit but only time will tell. Overall my mood has its ups and downs. Knowing tonight is probably the best I will feel during a round of chemo is kinda depressing and sometimes I get irritated at the situation but there are other times when I have great joy. On Monday I had a follow up appoint at SCCA and I learned a little more about future treatment options. I am on a couple clinical trial lists but its a catch 22. I have to be off chemo/treatment for 28 days before I would qualify and right now not being off treatment is a risky option and there is no guarantee I would get on in 28 days because of wait lists. Beyond trials I have been approved for a couple pill forms of chemo and there is still one nasty infusion protocol waiting for me. Unfortunately we know the chemo is most likely not a cure. We are just waiting for that home run to become available. Of course I know that my only chance to beat this is by the grace of God and nothing else. As you go to bed or continue on your day tomorrow I could use a prayer or two. Please pray for manageable side effects and mental stamina. Also, my son has an AAU basketball tournament that I would like to attend so pray that it is possible if even for one game. Thanks again for everyones support.
