Tomorrow is the deadline for the Ortaca Municipality to hand over - TopicsExpress

Tomorrow is the deadline for the Ortaca Municipality to hand over the Iztuzu beach facilities to Governorship of Mugla, according to an official letter released yesterday. As you know, the Ministry of Environment & Urbanisation and Governorship of Mugla has very recently decided to give the beach facilities to a private company rather than Ortaca Municipality, as a result of a controversial telephone bidding process. No one is happy about this decision, nor the procedure the state has conducted. Many people think the rights of the people have been ignored and that the conservation area and the beach will be at risk of commercial objectives. They think, as before, the beach should be run by the Ortaca Municipality as it represents all the residents and the beach revenue will not go to one companys pocket but to Dalyan and Ortaca. Tomorrow there will be a protest meeting at both ends of the beach as the officials are expected to come to take over the beach facilities. If you agree with the concerns outlined above, we would like to see you there too. Would you prefer the beach run by the Municipality? Is it better for public interest to do so? Come and say it aloud tomorrow at 1:30 pm at either side of the beach.
