Tomorrow is the start of our churchs annual weeklong VBS. Today after church, our family along with Princess aide took a tour of the part of the church where it will be held. We found out that her group will be sitting near the exit of the worship center in case Princess needs to make a quick exit as sometimes the music gets too loud for her. She will not wear noise canceling headphones as she doesnt want to be made fun of. She really tries to fit in as much as possible. All of us strategized what to do if Princess needed to take a breather and walked through the classrooms as well. We located the restrooms since that is very important ( see previous posts about restroom issues.) Her 1:1 is so awesome! She and I talked about where Id drop Princess off in the morning and pick her up afterwards. Were pretty sure shes gonna want to bring KiKi, her comfort item, so I had her find her mini backpack once we got home. Shes currently doing this lovely cough up/ spit up thing so we packed plenty of Kleenexes as well. I am also going to pack a very small bottle of water. Even with all of these supports in place things could go badly. Her 1:1 knows not to expect too much from her the first day but to encourage her to do a little more each day. Im as nervous as a wet hen. (Could ya tell?) If you wouldnt mind saying a prayer for my little girl, her aide and her momma, Id appreciate it very much. All of the crew at our churchs VBS would covet your prayers as well. What new thing has your child tried recently? What helped them be successful?
