Tomorrow, the Orange Order will descend on Edinburgh to march for - TopicsExpress

Tomorrow, the Orange Order will descend on Edinburgh to march for a No vote. Just a couple of months ago, thugs on an Orange Order march in Glasgow smashed a teenage girl in the face with a bottle, leaving her crying as blood streamed down her face. Hate speech, verbal abuse, violence and intimidation are routine occurrences during or shortly after these marches. These anti-Catholic bigots are completely stuck in the past. They have absolutely nothing positive to offer Scotlands future, only fear and hatred. Which is exactly why their march will only help swing more undecided voters towards Yes. So the best thing all Yes supporters can do is simply IGNORE them. Their march makes the case for a Yes vote for us. We dont need to provoke any kind of confrontation with them - this is what theyre hoping for as it would allow the No-supporting media to then print misleading headlines about Yes supporters causing trouble - regardless of who starts the trouble. Tomorrow, Yes campaigners should stay away from the Orange march, and just continue our positive campaign across Scotland. The contrast between our positive message about the future and the Orders negative, angry obsession with past conflicts will be obvious to undecided voters. The Orange Order are making a terrible mistake having this march, evidenced by the fact that Better Together are trying to distance themselves from it. When your enemy is making a mistake - dont interrupt him! theguardian/uk-news/2014/sep/10/orange-order-pro-union-parade-edinburgh-better-together
