Tomorrow will be one of the hardest days of my life... I will bid farewell to one of my oldest, most loyal friends. We have been together for nearly 27 years and honestly, I cant even begin to imagine what my barn will be like without his grumpy little attitude! He literally, only ever in 27 years, had one emergency vet bill and that was to remove a piece of a tree limb from his head due to a tornado! Never, in 27 years has he been sick, colic, snot nose, NOTHING! And until the last 8 years, he maintained on 3lbs of oats a day with some hay! For the last 8 years its been 3lbs of Equine Sr! I can say that he is the best horse ever. Not just because he is mine, but because he IS! He touched a lot of hearts, taught a lot of lessons, both physical and mental. He was my rock. My therapy. My solitude. My calm. My peace. My constant. He watched many other horses come into and go out of my life. For whatever reason, HE stayed. I know life will go on with out him...I still have a mare that hopefully will fill the void that Clyde will be leaving. Time will pass & nothing but happy thoughts of him will be left because there are not ANY bad memories! He was a true angel (unless you were trying to catch him out of the pasture...uh uh, NOT happening!) So tomorrow I will turn him over to the man that brought us together, Bob Crawford, now in heaven. Hopefully he will be waiting at the big pearly gate for his turn to take care of him! After all, we were supposed to have been partners on this project! Together, they can chase cows around the pastures of paradise! (I want him back, Crawford, when its my time to go!) May you rest in peace little buddy... Ive always wanted a donkey!
