Tonight I graduate from Leadership Macon and it has been an awesome experience. What I have learned is a bittersweet lesson on access and the lack of access that can become a generational curse. First of all Race is only part of our problem here, Poverty and Education are bigger issues. Those who know MUST share the knowledge. ....but people MUST try and try and try and TRY to overcome obstacles and keep on until you succeed. Being born in Tindall Heights and raised in Bellvue is not the end of my story, it is just part of it. My job now is to share what I have learned from there and the rest of my time on this Earth.That is something I PLEDGE do. We are in this boat together and we all benefit when the tide rises......and the tide is rising in Macon/Bibb county.......but we still have work to do.
