Tonight I introduced my budget for FY 15. In my budget I added three additional police officers (in addition to the 5 added in last years budget), added money for police reserves, and added $1.2 million for public education for the largest amount ever spent in the city on public schools. We set money aside for a rainy day, and, for only the 2nd time in 13 years, did not tax to the maximum allowed by Proposition 2 and half. As I said to the city council tonight, we should spend and tax only for what we need to spend, any additional money should go back to the people who own it, the taxpayers of the city. Ill have more on my budget later.
