Tonight I learned that high schools in Tainan are, for the first - TopicsExpress

Tonight I learned that high schools in Tainan are, for the first time ever, demanding that students come to school over the summer. Summer school = 7a.m. to 4p.m., six days per week. Homework = four hours every night, at least, at one students estimate. I got the feeling that he was erring on the side of caution. So these children, who are not yet eighteen, work 79 hours per week. Again, I think thats a cautious estimate. They are FORCED to work 79 hours per week. They have no choice in the matter. THEIR PARENTS CANNOT be forced to work 79 hours a week, because of labor laws. Schoolwork is not considered to be labor, so these children are not considered to be exploited child laborers... But they should be. Underaged students, forced, pressured, bullied into working 79 hours per week should be considered exploited labor. They should be considered abused children.
