Tonight, I was at a community event in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was a going away party in honor of Louis Alemayehu. Louis is an artist, a poet, an elder, community organizer, activist, educator and process worker. While at the event, I met and had conversations with a lot of amazing people and enjoyed great Indian, Ethiopian and soul food. For those of you who do not know, he is taking a courageous and vulnerable step in leaving for Ethiopia for three months beginning in December. His sole purpose for going is exploration and self discovery for the sake of deepening his work in community in the world and back here in the US. Please join me in bidding Louis farewell.
