Tonight and Thursday will be windy as another winter weather system moves across the region. Tonight, light westerly winds in the evening will become southerly and gust up to 40 mph after midnight. Low temperatures in the 0 to -10 range should occur in the evening, before slowly rising later. Thursday, an arctic cold front will shift the winds around to the northwest, gusting up to 50 mph in the afternoon and evening. Areas of light snow are expected near the boundary, mainly in southwest Minnesota. It is likely that blowing and drifting snow will cause problems in open and rural areas, especially east of I-29.
