Tonight as I happened to glance at the clock at 7:37 I thought - TopicsExpress

Tonight as I happened to glance at the clock at 7:37 I thought back to 3 weeks ago...it was a normal Friday night for our family, the weather was absolutely beautiful & we were planning to go on a leisurely stroll on our 4 wheelers with our kids. How our lives were drastically changed in a matter of seconds. The feelings are so very raw at this moment...I remember arriving at the hospital with Chase in the back of an ambulance. I remember the Dr coming in to evaluate Chase & the nurses telling her that this is the little boy who was also on the 4 wheeler with the man she had just seen. I remember looking into her eyes & asking if my husband was OK & knowing that he wasnt OK with the look on her face. I was a complete basket case...I knew Chase was OK & left him with my sister & ran to the other room to see my love. As I stood by him lying on this bed, he was unable to feel anything on his body except for his head & neck which was in extreme pain...at that moment I knew our lives would never be the same. Life was so extremely perfect for us right before this, our kids were finally at the age where we could start going places more often without complete meltdowns, we both felt successful in our jobs, we were starting to look for acreages in the country so we could have a place to truly unwind as a family...& then this happened...why is this happening to our family is all that really consumes my thoughts right now. Im not sure well ever know the answer to that question but thankfully we have so many friends & family members praying for us & helping to keep us uplifted! Chad had some good news today, the blood cultures have come back clean for the past 3 days so theyre planning to continue the antibiotics for a couple weeks just to make sure the bug they found in his bloodstream is out of his system, but it seems the antibiotics are doing their job. They did start him on some blood pressure medicine to keep his blood pressure from bottoming out when he sits up. Hes gotten 4 pretty good nights of sleep so hes feeling a little better. Were hoping by Monday hell be ready to kick some butt in physical therapy!
