Tonight as were were on our walk about delivering the heat packs we met a lady along the bungalows struggling to get her gas on. So off i went to give her a helping hand and gave her a heat pack. As i was explaining what we are all about and our aim her face lit up. Plump cheeks and a sparkle in her eyes. Just that small gesture of mine this evening was so meaningful to her. This is what keeps me going. Hearing and seeing the approval and support from our elderly friends. We really can make a difference. I know we can. I see it in their daces and their comments. Everyone approves so lets get pro active. If everyone on this group this evening made a sock heat pad before bed there would be over 400 elderly friends with a warming hugable heat pack from us. Eith our love. Now would that be magic... yes it would. You now what would be even better? That with our determination and passion we can make a huge difference. Imagine the stats for the elderly winter death rates for this yr be reduced. I want to help save lives. Help us to do so. With the elderly and vulnerable. 25,000 elderl in the uk die each year from the cold. Nothing else. Not other illnesses or from age but from the COLD. Thats 206 pass away each week. That is one cold related death every 7 minutes in the winter months... and the saddest thing is. We can prevent it. We can!!!!
