Tonight is the Tony Awards, the three hour televised tribute to the New York Broadway theatre community. Many Broadway veterans watched this show when they were young and got the bug to perform and eventually make it to Broadway. This three hour free broadcast includes many performances from current shows, including revivals of old names. Nominated shows include top choices Kinky Boots and Matilda the Musical, as well as Pippin, Motown the Musical, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Bring it on: the Musical, Annie, and Christmas Story, the Musical. One of our local successes, Stephen Oremus, who won a Tony for Best Orchestration for the Book of Mormon is up again for the same award for Kinky Boots. Anyone watching will find something to get inspired by. The dedication that these artists have to their profession is something that business owners can strive for in their own businesses.
