Tonight on Bizarre Stories 911!!!: The Trials & Tribulations of Modern Health Care. We went to a home out in what most of you would consider the boondocks earlier today for a cardiac problem. There we found a very nice grandmotherly type who was feeling sick at her stomach. She told us that she had a pacemaker put in yesterday at a big hospital in Atlanta, & just felt awful since. She said that she felt fine afterwards yesterday, but today was quite different. We evaluated her with our toys, & decided that since her new pacemaker was still under warranty, perhaps we should ride back up to the dealership & have it checked (since it was not working well AT ALL!!!) She agreed, so we gave her a little pharmaceutical relaxation and hooked her up to our pacemaker, found our happy place & called the local hospital advising what we had done, & that we felt that she was stable enough for an hour long road trip. They agreed so off we headed to the Emerald City to see the wizard. Everybody knows that the Emerald City welcomes with great wrath, unannounced guests, so as soon as possible, I called to request an audience. When I explained the nature of our visit, I was denied entry, & diverted back to the local hospital who did not have the resources to manage or repair the faulty pacemaker. We turned around, & were welcomed by our local friends who like us were at a loss to explain our denial by the wizard @ the Emerald City. In the meantime our patient waits comfortably with our friends at our local hospital until the Wizard becons, & we will return to our trip up the yellow brick road.... Next time, I think Ill wait until Im passing the airport to call the wizard...
